Dwarf Anubias make great beginner plants because they can adapt readily to almost any aquarium environment!

The Dwarf Anubias is definitely a cast-iron plant. This plant is so hardy that it can even survive out of water. In fact, the only other plant hardier than the anubias is algae. It needs very little light and isn't fussy about water conditions.

5Gs, I find that Java Fern, dwarf anubias, Java moss, Christmas moss, riccia, dwarf hairgrass (which has the propensity to overgrow the tank, turning the carpet effect into more of a wheat field look) and other dwarf species, fit the bill well.

Forks also make it easier to hide fasteners from view. Broad surfaces exposed to light will get covered with algae and make good attachment points for Java moss. The dwarf anubias (Anubias barteri var. nana) can also be attached to broad surfaces.
