The dwarf pufferfish is a hotly debated topic in nomenclature. It seems there are two species identified as dwarf pufferfish, and some dissent about where to place them scientifically.
I love my little dwarf puffers. They are living with 3 spotted congos and they have never attempted to attack each other. If you want a puffer and only have a small tank, get these puffers because they get no bigger than 3 cm.

I already have dwarf sunset gourami, indian dwarf puffer fish, white skirt tetra's, american flag fish, white skirt tetra's and a few female siamese fish's. My Q's are 1. will they all be fine together in same fish? 2.
Foods as soft as earthworms should not be staples for any captive puffer larger than the dwarf Puffer- live blackworms are big to them, but are a staple for me with them. The dwarf puffers are unique in seeming to have no dental wear issues.
You either have to tear down your tank and wash everything, get a fish that eats snails but potentially harasses your other fish (like a dwarf puffer), or manually try to remove them all (yeah right!).
And their prices on goods are higher, but then again they can't buy in volume like the chain stores. They also have dwarf puffers in a brackish tank, and published puffer experts agree they are a freshwater puffer.
