Breeding: Breeding Cichlasoma festae (Guayas Cichlid) is easily breed if a pair is formed. They can bee breed with other fishes in the aquarium if your aquarium is at least 540 L / 120 gallon.
The easiest way to distinguish the two is that the second vertical bars will form a Y on the upper portion of the body on Amphilophus festae. All bars on Cichlasoma uropthalmus are strictly vertical and will not intersect.

PD: An elongated cichlid with a sloping forehead. The body color varies greatly depending on the sex and age of the fish.
They can be kept with equally sized Citrinellums, Labiatums, Buttikoferis, Umbriferums, Haitensis, Festaes, Managuense, Crenchilas, Trimaculatum, Channas, and predatory catfish like red tails and shovelnoses.
Flowerhorn - The exact crosses that create this fish are unknown, but it's suspected to be a cross of Cichlasoma trimaculatum, Amphilophus citrinellus with possibly Cichlasoma festae and Vieja synspila also added to the mix.
Thought to be the end product of cross breeding between the Cichlasoma Trimaculatus, Cichlasoma Festae, Jingang Blood Parrot, and etc.
