Hyphessobrycon flammeus
SYN: Hyphessobrycon bifasciatus
PD: The body color ranges from brown to red, depending on the water conditions. The belly is silver.

I put the fish in the "killer" and by the next day they coloured in enough to look like the Flame Tetras should. I tried to sex them and decided that I definitely had 1 male, 1 female and 2 fish I could quite tell.

These include the distinctive Black or Black Skirt Tetra, the brightly colored Glow Light Tetra, the radiant orange Jewel Tetra, the Flame Tetra, and the red-tailed Pristella Tetra.

Until this week I had a 10 gal tank with free-spawning Flame Tetras (Hyphessobrycon flammeus).
