Frontosa Cichlid
The Frontosa African Cichlid is a fairly typical member of the Cichlidae family. Both sexes are characterized by a large frontal hump which will develop as the fish reaches maturity, or attains a length of around 4 inches.

The Frontosa Cichlid originates from Lake Tanganika. This lake is considered to be the second or third largest fresh water great lake in the world and the second deepest, only shallower than a great lake in Siberia, Russia.
Frontosa Cichlid (Cyphotilapia frontosa): Very attractive fish, classic white and black striped colour on the body. They are territorial, but given enough space they can tolerate others, and shouldn't harm plants.
The Frontosa Cichlid or Humphead Cichlid has a very pronounced coloration and large size, some up to 14 inches (35 cm). The fish shown above is an adult with the cranial hump (large knob on its head) not seen in juveniles.
