For as you scan the beautiful pictures accompanying the article your pride-and-joy 10 gallon tank in the corner just doesn't look as good as it used to.

Gallons Per Hour (gph): This is a unit of measurement usually used to rate pumps. For example, a certain pump may have an output of 400 gph, or gallons per hour, meaning that in one hour, it cycles 400 gallons.

Gallon - When used on this site without qualification, usually refers to the US Gallon, equal to 3.785 Liters. The UK Gallon is equal to 4.546 Liters.

On a 46 gallon tank, how much water did you actually move? I am considering purchasing a 46 from a friend and moving his, but not sure on the whole move process and what to do? how much water should i move? any advice?

Gallons per hour. The measurement of flow rate mainly associated with pumps and filters, this describes how many gallons per hour a piece of equipment can move through it. Affected by head height, ball valves and sharp turns in plumbing.

Small (5 gallon) grow-out tank, or 10 gallon breeding tank (recommended) with mature sponge filter.
Live food cultures for Adults and Fry including Mosquito larvae, Brine shrimp, Microworm [2], and Infusoria.

A twenty gallon tank is a good size for a beginner; it is large enough that the water conditions will be fairly stable, yet small enough that the beginner is not intimidated.

For a 15 gallons tank, you should be able to keep 8-12 of these fish. The tank must be furnished with leaf litter (Indian almond leaves), driftwoods, pipes (yes, pipes) and several plants.

FYI, my 60 gallon tank's base is about 13 1/2" X 48 1/2" (34.29cm X 123.19cm). This Water-return Manifold System fits within about 1 1/2" from the front (face) and from the back of the tank, and fits within about 1 1/2" from either side.

In my new 50gallon tank, I had also only set it up for a few hours before adding my danios and tetras again. However, I took the liberty of using their old filter in the new tank to speed up the cycling process.

4-6 watts per gallon is recommended for vigorous plant growth.

5 gallons for 1 snail is suggested. A good rule of thumb is 5 gallons per adult snail as they do produce a fair amount of waste. The top of the tank must be well covered so the snail does not escape.

The tank is a 70 gallon all glass tank, with a drilled bottom. It's 48" long, 18" high, and 18" deep. It sits on a wrought iron stand. I put a shelf of marine-grade plywood in the stand below the tank for the filtration.

Example:
30 Gallon tank => 36 in x 12 in = 432 in^2
psi = 300.3 lbs / 432in^2 =0.695 psi
0.695 psi x 144 in^2/foot^2 = 100 psf ...

A large tank of 90 gallons should be the minimum for this large fish. As it comes from very clean water, it is highly intolerant of any dissolved metabolic wastes, so do regular large water changes, and provide good filtration.

At least a one-half gallon bowl or tank. Depending on the size of your "vase" and your Betta, it must have adequate water in it.

TANK: 24" (60 cm) or 15 gallons (56 L). The tank should have a rocky set-up including caves and crevices. Use a fine gravel or preferably, a coral sand substrate. Cover the tank well, as frightened fish may be inclined to leap.

55 gallon sump filled to about 1/2 height. All additives and all injection by dosing pumps was set to go directly into the sump. Electrodes were placed in the tank not in the sump. Electrodes were in areas with real good water circulation.

Eheim recommends smaller models for larger tanks than the others and almost everyone buys larger than they say (2217 for a 55 gallon tank, for example, rather than the 2213 which they recommend).

Trewavasae Cichlids will require an enclosure of at least 25 gallons in volume. Temperatures for Trewavasae Cichlids should remain between 72 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit (21 and 25 degrees Celsius). The pH level should fall between seven and eight.

They will readily spawn in anything from a one-gallon jar to an outdoor pool when properly conditioned. A 10 gallon tank is usually used which gives the female plenty of room to retreat and allows the fry enough growing room.

Only a 20 Gallon tank and a 27 Gallon Tank. The stocks in the tanks have changed a lot from what is currently posted in the tanks.

Set up a breeding tank of at least 20 gallons. Keep the water slightly acidic for breeding. The tank should have a heater, sponge filter, a layer or two of marbles on the tank bottom to hide and protect the eggs, and a few live plants.

I use two 40 watt plant tubes in a 30 gallon tank with the lights on for 6 hrs, a 3 hour break, and then another 6 hours.
With adequate lighting, the next limiting factor is normally CO2.

For normal room temperatures, figure on 100 watts for a 20-gallon, 175 watts for a 55-gallon, and 300 watts for a 100-gallon. If the room gets quite cold, use higher wattages. The water temperature should be stable.

With aquariums over 110 gallons you may need to check with a contractor or engineer to make sure your floor can handle the weight, unless you putting it in the basement.

If you want a suggestion go somewhere between 29 gallons (110 liters) and 50 gallons (189 liters). Don't get a 20 gallon (78 liter) tank if you plan on keeping more than one puffer.

It is recommended for a single Oscar to have no less than 55 gallons, for a pair 75 gallons or more are needed. When breeding Oscars become very territorial and other species should be removed if possible.

frontosa get BIG and so requires a lot of space; at least 90 gallons. Because C. frontosa lives in a rocky habitat, plenty of rockwork and caves should be provided.

One method is to use 1 gallon containers, 1 for each day of the week. These sit on a window sill which gets good sunlight for as much of the day as possible.

Grade I-- Authentic Texas holey rock suitable for decorating hard-water aquariums ranging in size from 5 gallons and up. These rocks are reasonably clean, but may require some care upon arrival.
