As I mentioned earlier in the section about goldfish, I would suggest these freshwater and brackish crustaceans as a better choice for feeding live foods to a marine predator.
Ghost shrimp are always a good option, they're fairly cheap (often .39 each) and will hold him for a while. Blood worms are always good as well.

I had begun to raise ghost shrimp in the tank, and placed some snails in there as well. I supplemented them with bloodworms and the occasional clam.
I have tried many types of tropicals in my pond, including zebra danios, serpae tetras, rainbows, corydoras catfish, ghost shrimp, killies, kribensis, keyhole cichlids, red devils, angelfish, and even discus.
They enjoy eating betta food and ghost shrimp. They also enjoy baby fish. Paradise fish are rather aggressive and two males will fight it out to see who is stronger. Soon they will develop a pecking order.
A variety of frozen meaty foods is preferable, but a stubborn carnivore may require live feeder fish, ghost shrimp, fiddler crabs, or crayfish to initiate feeding until they become accustomed to frozen foods.
Feed worms, small fish,and ghost shrimp. Flakes and pellets are sometimes accepted. A long tank is definitely required, with a large cave for hiding. Plants are also recommended. Use 1 teaspoon of salt per 6 litres of water.

just can't seem to find my ghost shrimp I came back to a sputtering filter though, and figured out the power had gone out like Lemuel said. That filter motor was fried but luckily I had a spare motor for that model.
