The Giant Danio is an excellent fish for the larger community aquarium. A blue-green background on the fish is intensified by its gold spots and lines.

Giant Danios originate form Southwestern Asian countries, including: India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand Sri Lanka, Bhutan and China. They are found in hill streams under 300 feet of elevation.

A- I have giant danios in my mbuna tank and they are not picked on by the cichlids. In fact, they chase the mbuna from time to time. The purpose of dither fish is to provide feelings of security to fish that are hunted by predators.

I found that dither fish, such as giant danios are very very quick fish and the clown knives cannot keep up with them at all. Also large silver dollars or pacu can become tank mates.

i bought 10 Zebra danios at walmart along with 2 giant danios less than a week ago. They are in a 55 gallon tank with plenty of water current from two power filters (aqua-tech and whisper) and an air pump(whisper) with an airstone and bubble wall.

Some of the most popular danios are the Giant Danio and Zebra Danio. The Giant Danio can grow up to four inches long and is a very hardy fish. The bottom of its body is a bluish gray, while their fins are transparent with just a hint of yellow.

it is very helpful to have dither fish like giant danios and other fish in theyre tank in order to keep the pair bonded. this is theoretically done because the pair will defend theyre area together, wich helps the bond at the same time.

Danios Several species of Danios are often found in pet stores, including the Giant Danio - Danio aequipinnatus, the Zebra Danio - Brachydanio rerio, the Leopard Danio - Brachydanio frankei, and the Pearl Danio - Brachydanio albolineatus.

There have been very few instances of them being bred in captivity, but one report was published in the February 1996 issue of Practical Fishkeeping: An aquarist in England had four large (11" - 14") specimens in a tank with some 4" giant danios.

This includes zebra danios, leopard danios and giant danios. Both long fin and short fin danios are excellent starter fish.

Tank mates would include jack dempsey's, convicts, oscars and other cichlids of similar size that aren't too aggressive like midas and festae. Unless of course the tank is extremely large. Dithers such as silver dollars, giant danios work well as ...

Get six to eight 2 inch fishes and a school of 8 or so giant danios or rainbowfish. I would recommend six 2 inch severeums, 8 red rainbowfish, and an Ancistrus for a nice display. Use a tank planted with Valisneria, duckweed, and riccia.
