GPH - Gallons Per Hour. The rate at which a filter turns over x amount of Gallons in one hour. For example, a filter that turns over 150 gph will filter 100% of the water in a 10g tank 15 times in one hour.

Gallons per hour. The measurement of flow rate mainly associated with pumps and filters, this describes how many gallons per hour a piece of equipment can move through it. Affected by head height, ball valves and sharp turns in plumbing.
Water flow is 3,160 GPH (12,000 l/h) by night and 4,200 GPH (16,000 l/h) by day.

Flow rates range from 1800 GPH to as high as 7000 GPH for a larger pump. Generally, the ideal external pump will circulate the total volume of the pond at least once per hour.
