Ammannia gracilis is a rather old plant in the aquarium hobby. With the requirements of growing bright red and it becoming rather large, many people aren't bothered growing this plant.

Chaetocerous gracilis is a 6-9 μm solitary diatom with four large spines. It is frequently used in large quantities in commercial shrimp culturing.

A couple of Ammania gracilis roots were also planted on the left side until they grow new leaves and then decide were exactly fit better.

SYN: Hemigrammus gracilis
PD: The body color is silver. An iridescent orange to red stripe extends from the snout to the base of its tail. The front part of the dorsal fins are the same color as the stripe. Other fins are silver to transparent.

Some of the slender suckermouth catfish, such as the Whiptail - Dasyloricaria filamentosa and the Farlowella - Farlowella gracilis, are quite delicate species.

gracilis, but several authorities believe this is incorrect, and consider the fish offered as F. acus to in fact be the subject species. The sketch of F. acus [here F. vittata] and F.

It consisted of Procatopus gracilis, P.similis, P abberans and P.nototaemia species. Both Procatopus and Lamprichthys are called lampeyes in the aquarium hobby. Lamprichthys live only in Lake Tanganyika.

Most of these species get in excess of 12". Some of the slender suckermouth catfish, such as the Whiptail - Dasyloricaria filamentosa and the Farlowella - Farlowella gracilis, are quite delicate species.

It is best kept either in a species tank, or with established robust Lamprologines or a large school of Cyprichromis. It is believed that this species originated from a natural crossing of N. splendens and N. gracilis.
