These particular halfbeaks are not picky eaters at all. They stay near the surface so as long as the food doesn't sink too fast then they will most likely eat it. Most foods will be accepted but you should try to vary the diet a bit.
Halfbeak - Prefers live foods, but will eat flakes.
Hatchetfish - Prefers live foods but will accept freeze dried and flake foods.
Killifish - Eats small live foods, can be trained to accept flakes.

These are usually the easiest to breed. If you have females, you feed them & change the water. In about 4-6 weeks most will spit out live small fish.
bidens make good companions for Mud Skippers, Knight Gobies Bumblebee Gobies, Indian Glass Fish, Halfbeaks, Mollies, Guppies, Amano and shrimp and other Brackish fish that do not prey on large invertebrates.
Other livebearers are halfbeaks, anableps, and fish in the Goodeid family. They are easy to sex, as the female is larger, and the male has a rod-like anal fin called a gonopodium that he uses to internally fertilize the female.
Suitable tankmates include scats, monos, Celebes rainbowfish, other rainbowfish that tolerate brackish water conditions, mollies, guppies, glass fish, halfbeaks and bumblebee gobies.
