Hatchet Fish

Aquarium Hasemania NanaHead and Tail Light Tetra

I have four silver hatchet fish. I originally started with just two of them, and one refused to eat anything, and started to develop white patches on its top fins, I took it back to the pet store and bought three more.

Hatchet fish have been among my best fish. They seem to live very long lives and get along quite well with others. Great choice for a top-dweller.

The long - Under water tunnel
Roll Jaws music - head on shark and nice teeth mate.
What a fish - Lionfish.
Barbs paradise - Loads of 'em (Tigers, Green, Rosy).

Hatchet fish, for example, have upturned mouths that are suited for taking food off of the surface. Tetras are mid-level feeders and have forward-facing mouths best suited for grabbing food suspended throughout the water column.

Small to medium-sized tetras (such as the Diamond Tetra), dwarf cichlids and hatchet fish are good additions. Generally the fish will mix well with most community tank citizens. Keep in groups of at least six.
Breeding
Unreported.

A 20 gallon tank with 2 Angel Fish, 3 Clown Loaches and a school of 5 Hatchet Fish with some Java Ferns and Sword Plants and maybe a nice piece of driftwood. This is beautiful.

Of the fish that died, 2 algae eaters, one cat fish, a silver hatchet fish and one neon that is still MIA. Seems the bottom feeders were effected more. I added H2O2 at night, knowing that the hydrogen peroxide breaks down quickly in light.
