Origin: Guyana countries, Amazonas. The fish inhabits a wide range of different circumstances, in all kinds of water.

PD: The body is oval-shaped and silver in color. The back is arched and the dorsal fin stands tall.

This species is one of several in the Hemigrammus ocellifer group, species that have one or two humeral spots and one spot on the caudal peduncle (tail base).
