Honey Gourami: Colisa chuna
The Honey Gourami is found in Assam and Bangladesh. At full length this fish is 5 cm. The male is intensely brownish red in colouration.

As many of you know, the Honey Gourami sold in stores is not actually Colisa chuna but a color variety of probably C. labiosa.

The Honey Dwarf Gourami is sometimes called the Honey Gourami, the Sunburst Gourami or the Dwarf Gourami, and is closely related to the Colisa lalia Dwarf Gourami. Both the male and female are pale yellow-brown in color, except during spawning.
These include the Dwarf Gourami - Colisa lalia, the Honey Gourami - C. chuna, and the Sunset Dwarf Gourami (probably a cross between C. lalia and C. chuna). In theory, these would all be good fish for the community aquarium.
For example, while many species of Gourami have proven themselves as "cycleable" species, we have not had consistent success with the Honey Gourami, Colisa chuna, and several other Gouramis.
