Though most often called the Chinese Hillstream Loach, you may find this fish under a variety of names such as the Hillstream Loach, Borneo Loach, Hong Kong Pleco, or Butterfly Loach.
These are curious little fish, also called UFO Plecos and Hong Kong Plecos, which means many mistake them as Pleco Catfish. They are not, they are part of the River Loach family.
Hillstream Loaches, Gastromyzon etc are known as Borneo or Hong Kong Plecos). Importers have a lot to answer for! Back to our "Common" pleco that started it all. Perhaps there is still some merit in being the "original".
