The rules for most typical society bowl shows as well as auctions usually have somewhere buried amongst them a simple statement that reads something like the following: "No Hybrids".
Hybrid fish are often brought up in conversation when it comes to species identification. In order for two fish species to hybridise, they need to be very closely related in the gene pool, even then there's not always a guaranteed cross.

Different species - usually, but not necessarily, belonging to the same genus - can be crossed; this rarely happens in the wild, but is a technique in common use among aquarists.

F1-Hybrid
The first generation of a cross between two species. F1 hybrids are very often sterile which may result in faster growth rates as there is no energy put into the development of gonad material.
Hybrid Berlin Systems seems to be the best captive support design used in the states presently. A few advanced reef-keepers have begun to achieve natural growth rates in their properly maintained captive systems.

I have a hybrid called dalmation, and it is pretty agressive when it doesn't have a mate. It even killed three angelfish because it was lonely. (I think). This fish otherwise is a really nice and colorful fish to keep in a community aquarium.

Some marlieri appear to be very washed out due to inbreeding or hybridization. This dark Burundi variant has the strongest melanistic pattern we have seen on marlieri.

It sounds like it could be a hybrid unless your 2 bumblebees are a male and a female. The Only way to tell for sure is to wait until it reaches a certain size so that you can see its colouration.

"Steel Blue" is a very attractive fish that is widely available. Although it is likely a hybrid fish there remains the possibility that they are a natural species.

To make it more confusing, there are also hybrids of these two species. Most tank-raised specimens are A. labiatus. The Red Devil Cichlid is peach to yellow with some specimens having a white underside.
Tiger Barbs, or the Barbus tetrazona, are originally found in Borneo, Indonesia, Sumatra and Thailand. The Albino Tiger Barb is probably a man made hybrid, as no known Albinos have been found in the wild.
