Incised: Cut into or carved. Incomplete Metamorphosis: A developmental process in the life cycle in which no pupal stage preceded the adult.
It is easily recognized by its deeply incised to emarginate tail and its general form. In some ways it looks more like an anthias than a wrasse, hence its species name anthioides.
The patient was hospitalized for five days and given antibiotics (minocycline and rifampin) by IV, the infection site was incised and a porous tube inserted from finger to palm, and the infected area was irrigated with saline solution.
It is medium sized for the group and not so deeply incised in the grooves of the spiral as the other common varieties. They too are available in several color forms. I would hesitate to trust most LFS to tell the good guys from the plant eaters.
