Junior synonym

Aquarium JumperKalkwasser

Tetraodon fahaka (junior synonym)
Size
Up to 18" (45cm), but usually smaller in aquaria - approx 8-10" (20-25cm).

All of these have been reduced to junior synonyms, thus invalid species (I, however, wouldn't be surprised if either A. aequipinnis or A. reitzigi is eventually recognized as a valid species.).

Pelvicachromis pulcher was originally described by George Boulenger in 1901, though subsequently a number of junior synonyms (Pelmatochromis aureocephalus, Pelmatochromis camerunensis) and misidentifications (Pelmatochromis kribensis, ...

lacustricolus until this name was declared a junior synonym of S. tanganaicae by De Vos & van den Audenarde in 1998), S. petricola Matthes 1959, and S. polli Gosse 1982 (formerly known as S. eurystomus). All except S.

pappaterra, and apparently several other species which either need to be described or need to be matched with names which have previously been treated as junior synonyms for S. jurupari. These include a species which resembles S.

For example, from the junior synonym Hyphessobrycon callistus the term 'callistus' means 'very beautiful', thus the term 'jewel'. Another junior synonym, Hyphessobrycon serpae, has led to the name 'Serpae Tetra'.

A.W.C.T. Herre described the species Aphyocypris pooni in 1939, but Weitzman and Chan (1966) determined it was the same species and this name is now a junior synonym.
