First, the information must be accurate; I've seen three inch diameter Discus labeled as "large", "pairs" of two inch Angel Fish, and many "female" male Kennyi, to name just a few exaggerations.

Maylandia lombardoi, is a 13 cm (5 in) freshwater fish from the family Cichlidae, the species is popular in the aquarium hobby where it is sold under a variety of common names including: lombardoi, kenyi or kennyi.

Well, Christina, two things : First, most probably your kennyi (correct name : Maylandia lombardoi or Maylandia lombardoi) is a MALE, which has still the female color. What is the size of it ?

Pseudotropheus lombardoi, n, 19
Kennyi, Kenyi cichlid
Origin: Afrika, Lake Malawi. Here the fish occur at depths of 6-30 meters in sediment rich areas
Etymology: Named after John Lombardo, a fish importer.

Other names for the Kenyi Cichlid are the Mbuna, Kenyi, Blue Kenyi, Kennyi, and Kenyii.
