Turquoise or Lake Kutubu Rainbowfish have striking colors, with males having an intense blue color, that make for a great centerpiece in the aquarium.

The Turquoise Rainbow Fish, also known as the Lake Kutubu Rainbow Fish, is a beautiful fish. It is highly active, very colorful and rather hardy. These traits make the Turquoise Rainbow Fish a desired fish among beginning and experienced aquarists.

Lake Kutubu rainbows accept a wide variety of food, taking all manner of flake, live foods and vegetable fare. Females in breeding condition will often show eagerness to nibble at algae sources.

The tank also contains fish such as boeseman's rainbowfish (Melanotaena boesemani), Lake Kutubu rainbowfish (Melanotaena lacustris), bristlenose catfish, and an upside-down catfish that is nearly twelve years old.
