Leopard Danio - Danio rerio var. frankei
Species name: Danio rerio var. frankei, was formally known as D. frankei and thought to be a species in its own right but is now considered a variety of D. rerio.
The Leopard Danio is a spotted colour morph of the zebrafish Danio rerio, otherwise identical in all respects. Golden and long fin varieties are available. The golden variety is semi-albino and the long fin fish have been bred in aquaria.

The Leopard Danio is one of the most common Danios available and can be found at just about any fish store. The base will usually be silver or white dark blue or black dots occurring in a horizontally lined pattern. The head will usually be darker.
The leopard danio, sometimes seen under the name Danio frankei, is probably a man-made colour morph variation; most authorities agree that this variant has not been found in nature. The right photo above shows this fish.
The Longfin Leopard Danio is a distinct variety of the Zebra Danio. Instead of zebra stripes, the Longfin Leopard Danio sports a mottled, spotted pattern. Its body sparkles with a burnished gold metallic color peppered by many bluish-gray spots.

This fish is as tough as a old boot and has great character.
This includes zebra danios, leopard danios and giant danios. Both long fin and short fin danios are excellent starter fish.
I have some pearl danios coexisting happily with other community fish including guppies, blue danios, leopard danios, and one double tail male betta. They all seem to be doing fine together.
