LPS Selection and Care Tips:
Over the years I've learned a couple of things.
The best way to position them is with the stony base facing down, even burying them in the sand works.
LPS - (1) Local Pet Store. (2)Long polyped stony corals which require high intensity lighting.

LPS coral. Most common color forms are pinks, tans, greens. Often seen with purple tips.
Environment:
Reef. Indo-Pacific range.
LPS Euphyllia species that can be very aggressive and needs lots of space between itself and other corals. They do best under moderate to high lighting levels, moderate water flow and supplemental feedings.

For LPS corals and mushrooms, I could use 3 pieces of 36W white PL-Ls, and a single 36W actinic blue PL-L.
For SPS corals or anemones, I would just use a single 150W 10000K or even a 250W 20000K MH.
This is the LPS that I frequent. It's convenient and they have most of what I need. It's certainly not worth raving about, but as far as pet stores go, it's not too bad.

These small starfish have the potential to graze on SPS Corals, although I found this one on the base of a declining LPS Bubble Coral.
