Lyretail hogfish ( Bodianus anthioides ) (Bennett, 1830)
One of the most spectacular, and most divergent, of the hogfish species is Bodianus anthioides. It is easily recognized by its deeply incised to emarginate tail and its general form.

Lyretail Plecostomus (Hypsotomus plecostomus) - the common one sold as algae eating fish - can grow to be several feet in length. Their heavy armor makes them almost invulnerable to attack by all but the most aggressive species.

Regarding the 'lyretail molly article'. I see this was edited by yourself and Catxx. I took a look and I guess it was converted to a redirect because of several reasons. Maybe because the lyretail molly article was incorrectly titled?

Lyretail Purus and in the Far East as A. sp. Rondonia. All things considered, Marco's name is the most descriptive. Yes, all the care & breeding information (what little there is of it) in the Mayland & Bork book under A.

I just got two Lyretail swords and they are beautiful!! They are also very lively, and if you walk by the tank they try to follow!! The male is a golden/yellowish color with a red/orange tail, and is simply beautiful, as is the golden/orange female.

There are many species of Swordtails including the Lyretail swordtail, and the Green Swordtail. Also known as Swords, these livebearing fish are a peaceful community fish.

Avoid the ornate ones, such as the lyretails, since they may be too tempting to turn down as a fin-snack. They can be adapted to brackish conditions as well.

The Lyretail Anthias (Pseudoanthias squamipinnis). This fish is nicely colored but has some demanding (and quite interesting) requirements. First of all in the aquarium they should be kept in a school consisting of one male and several females.

Also native to the South America region, the sailfin and the hybridized gold, black, albino, and lyretail mollies prefer hard, alkaline water that can get as cold as 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sometimes known as the lyretail cichlid or fairy cichlid, Neolamprologus brichardi is a species of cichlid, endemic to the clear, hard waters of Lake Tanganyika in east central Africa.

From round to spade shaped to various forms of lyretail, Apistogrammas can be found with a great variety of caudal shapes and colors. Another finage feature that many males exhibit are long flowing ventral fins.
