I just got two Lyretail swords and they are beautiful!! They are also very lively, and if you walk by the tank they try to follow!! The male is a golden/yellowish color with a red/orange tail, and is simply beautiful, as is the golden/orange female.
There are many species of Swordtails including the Lyretail swordtail, and the Green Swordtail. Also known as Swords, these livebearing fish are a peaceful community fish.
In the early 1970's I remember her sending a box of Black Hi Fin Lyretail Swords to the USA and receiving $15.00 a pair for them.
