Marine Rotifer - Brachionus species. Live food cultivated to feed marine Fry and other marine organisms.
Most rotifers are fresh water or brackish water organisms, and most marine rotifers are associated with the sediments rather than the plankton. Those that are planktonic, however, are readily eaten by many fish larvae.
They were fed marine rotifers, newly hatched brine shrimp, micro-worms and cyclop-eze. The tank bottom was cleaned with daily 10% water changes. The fry grew fast and at about a month I had about half of them left, due to illness on my part.
For those trying to breed reef critters such as anemone fish, gobies and blennies artemia enrichment is essential for success unless one raises marine rotifers as a larval food instead.
FEEDING THE LARVAE Since 1989, with the exception of a few crashes, I have been maintaining marine rotifers (_Brachionus plicablis_) fed on micro algae, commonly referred to as greenwater.
