Melanochromis johannii
SYN: Pseudotropheus johannii
PD: An elongated cichlid with an arched forehead. The Johannii has a "typical" mbuna body shape. The color depends greatly on the sex and age of the fish.
They are classified as Melanochromis Johannii. They are very similar to but a distinct species from Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos (formerly Melanochromis maingano). The Johanni males have light blue on a black background, while the females are orange.
