My dwarf neon rainbows are a delight to keep! They are active, happy, and hearty eaters. I started with a trio of 1 male and 2 females. I quickly added 2 more males, and 5 more females for a total of 10. They are a beautiful grouping in a 20 gallon.

The amazing aspect of this is that at one time wild guppies, neon tetras, and convict cichlids were as exciting to aquarists as the golden Sailfin goodeid, the dwarf neon rainbowfish, and Rift Lake cichlids are today.
Same thing goes for the "Dwarf neon rainbowfish" -- it's a Neon rainbowfish sans Dwarf. If no one objects, I'll fix them and list a few.

The Praecox Rainbow, otherwise known as the Dwarf Neon Rainbow or Turquoise Rainbowfish, is a peaceful, schooling fish.
plus my fish all love them including the dwarf neon rainbows; the bettas etc.. they all love to eat them when small enough and even try to snatch them as they fall .. when they are too big to eat lol...
The next issue has a picture of Melanotaenia praecox (the neon rainbowfish) on the cover as well as a really good article by Peter Unmack dealing with other fishes native to Oz.
