Nymphaea lotus

Aquarium Nuchal HumpNymphoides aquatica

A Nymphaea lotus bulb is sending out its first leaves. Protected against moving around by three big rocks and a bogwood, it is still covered with sand every now and then by the cichlids. This plant has spent more than two years in my haps tank.

Scientific Name: Nymphaea lotus (zenkeri)
Range: West Africa
Ease of Keeping: Medium ...

Of the 25 species of plants originally placed in the tank, mostly four are remaining: Hygrophila polysperma, Anubias barterii (?), Cryptocoryne wendtii (with possibly C. becketii mixed in) and Nymphaea lotus "Red Tiger Lotus".
