A yoyo loach, almora loach or Pakistani loach, Botia almorhae, is a freshwater fish belonging to the loach family (Cobitidae). It originates in the slow-running and still waters of India and Pakistan, whence the name Pakistani loach originates.
This commonly-available loach may be seen under several common names including Reticulated loach, Lohachata Botia, Pakistani Loach, Almorha Loach and Yo Yo Loach probably being the most common.
Once I had four of blue loaches with other community fish including clown loach and Pakistani loaches. When compared with Pakistani loaches, the blue loaches are bit shy and usually swim with own it's species.
Botia lohachata is known as the Pakistani Loach and is often called the Yo Yo Loach. It is a scaleless fish which is silvery gold with black irregular striping and has four pairs of barbels protruding from the mouth area.
