Some of them are peacock cichlid, walnut cichlid, or velvet cichlid. These are very special types of fishes that can survive for more than years if you take care of them properly. They can grow up to six inches.

The Peacock Bass, which is also known as the Peacock Cichlid, the Butterfly Peacock Bass and the Eye Spot Cichlid, is best known as a game fish. Peacock Bass have long bodies and deeply notched dorsal fins.

Hybridisation is not always deliberate: with the Aulonocara (Malawi Peacock Cichlids), most of the females are quite similar and in a community tank, the father of a particular brood of fry may not belong to the same species as the mother.

Known as the Banded tilapia or the Peacock Cichlid.
The highlights shown in the dorsal fin are pale iridescent blue, tipped with red. The fin also has an interesting spot. Body color, olive, overlaid with rapidly changing dark patterns.

Oscars are a South American cichlid also known as the Velvet Cichlid, Peacock Cichlid, or Walnut Cichlid.

It is said to be the dominant one when placed with other peacock cichlids. males can be pretty hard on females. This peacock is, together with Aulonacara jackobfreibergi, probably the only one that can be kept with small mbuna.

Aulonocara (peacock cichlids) are one of the best "starter" cichlids we offer. They are relatively problem-free, fast-growing and are not overly prone to maladies.
