Pearl Danios have a forked tail, paired barbels, and reach a maximum length of two inches (6 cm). They are live for approximately five years. An extremely hardy and easy to care for fish, Pearls make an excellent beginner fish.

The Pearl Danio (Danio albolineatus) is a tropical fish belonging to the minnow family (Cyprinidae). Originating in Sumatra, Burma, and Thailand, this fish is sometimes found in community tanks by fish keeping hobbyists.

Pearl Danio (Brachydanio albolineatus): The Pearl Danio usually keeps to the upper levels, where it is constantly looking for food. It is therefore a good idea to keep the lid firmly closed, so it can't jump out.

The Celestial Pearl Danio is an omnivore that will eat virtually any standard topical fish foods available within the hobby.

Danios Several species of Danios are often found in pet stores, including the Giant Danio - Danio aequipinnatus, the Zebra Danio - Brachydanio rerio, the Leopard Danio - Brachydanio frankei, and the Pearl Danio - Brachydanio albolineatus.

I have 7 Melanotaenia australis in a 400 litre with pearl danios, odessa barbs, a male Geophagus brasiliensis (to be re-homed) and a weather loach (soon adding more). The tank temp is generally 22-24°C. Mine have bred at 24°C and pH 7.2.

the tetras and barbs, danios also make good schooling fishes. These fishes originate from Asia and prefer fast-moving waters, as indicated by their slim bodies. The more popular varieties are the Zebra Danio [see photo], Giant Danio, and Pearl Danio.

Metalic green, blue and red of the Aphyosemions does not photograph well, the fluorescent glow of the lampeyes does not get captured on the film at all (much like the pearl sheen of the pearl danios).
