The Pictus Catfish, also known as the Polka Dot Pictus or Polka Dot Catfish, is one of the prettier Catfish available.

I keep it in a 55 gallon tank with a weathering loach and a plecostumus, although I plan on getting a pictus catfish, 2 more silver dollars, bala sharks, black finned sharks, golden sharks, a few guppies, and an African frog.

I have 2 snakeskins, with 2 golden gouramis in a mixed 200 L tank including pictus catfish, red kribs, hatchets, plecs and a red tailed shark, and they are one of my favorites but also very timid.

The main aquarium is home to a stunning 2m-long Arapaima that has a shoal of Black Pacu, Redtail Catfish, Granulated Dora and Amazon Pictus Catfish for company. To add to the effect authentic Amazonian jungle sounds are constantly played.

It is also important to remember the fish's behavior when determining whether it will fit in your tank or not. A very active fish, like a Zebra Danio or a Pictus Catfish, will need more swimming space than a less active fish, ...
