Placidochromis electra
Origin and locale/variety: Nkhomo Reef--Malawi, Lake Malawi, East Africa
Size: Adults are usually 2.0 to 3.5 inches in aquarium environment.
Placidochromis electra in the normal, not displaying dress.
The same fish, less than 20 seconds later, diplaying. Note the intensity of the bars and the appearance of more bars on its side.

Placidochromis electra
SYN : Cyrtocaraelectra, Haplochromis electra, Haplochromis jahni
PD : An elongated fish with a body shape similar to that of Aulonocara species. The head is triangle-shaped and themouth is located at the bottom.
They are peaceful fish and do better if placed with other large peaceful fish (eg. Nimbochromis livingstoniis & polystigmas, Placidochromis electras, Protomelas similis & taeniolatus, and Cytrocara mooriis).
