Rainbowfish
Rainbows are extremely colorful fishes native to Australia, New Guinea, and Madagascar. Like the Cyprinids described above, Rainbows are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of six or more.

One inch of fish per gallon of water is a good rule of thumb for most small community fish (like most Tetras, Bettas, Rainbowfish, and Platies).

Although danios, barbs and rainbowfish are sometimes suggested as dither fish to draw cichlids from hiding or target fish for reducing aggression among cichlids, we don't recommend that these species be subjected to the aggression of cichlids.

These are the most commonly-available Rainbowfish, at least in the Midwest. Almost all Rainbows are quite hardy, but of the species listed, the Madagascar and the Celebes are the most sensitive. Rainbowfish like clean water.

I have used this method successfully to spawn both pearl danios, copper rasboras and hopefully soon will adapt this method with spawning mobs to raise blue eyed rainbowfish.
I hope this info helps you and good luck! Dont be afraid to try! ...
