Red-Finned Shark Disambiguation: the scientific name of the Red-Finned Shark is usually given as Epalzeorhynchos frenatum. However, another member of the Epalzeorhynchos genus is very commonly offered for sale as E. frenatum, E.

Red-Finned Cigar Sharks are omnivorous feeders and should be fed a balanced diet of both meaty and green foods.

The Red-finned Blue-eye (Scaturiginichthys vermeilipinnis) lives in spring fed pools in Queensland and the species has only been encountered in a handful of pools. None of the pools are very large and the average water depth is just a few centimetres.

Comment : I just got my male red-finned shark today. He seems quite active right now--need to get him some driftwood and/or caves. I got him along with a cory cat. They were tank mates at the pet store, so I assume they will be good together.

The Rainbow Shark, also known as the Ruby Shark or Red-Finned Shark, is great for the semi-aggressive community aquarium, as long as they are the sole shark and the other tankmates are of similar size.

Therefore it is advisable not to mix it with species such as the Red-Finned Shark, or other Epalzeorhynchos species, Siamese Algae Eaters (C. siamensis), etc. The aggressive nature can become more apparent with age.
