These tetras have red heads that can change colors depending on environmental stressors.

Can get a little nippy with other species, keep in small schools to limit the nipping.

The morph from northern Costa Rica has a pastel blue-green colored head and back with a lavender region below the gill cover. The light green back gives way to lavender hues before reaching the lateral stripe.

rhodostomus (with its bright red head and zebra-like tail) but a really unique fish in the sense that its orange strips seem like fluorescent. The best way to describe this particular color is the normal highlighter we use in our office to mark text.

This Ruby is identified by its red head. The body will be dark blue fading into black at the tail, there may also be a red sheen. It will have large scales and large eyes.

A full grown adults sports a red head, blue-green body, and yellow tail with blue dots, green stripes, and white lips. Although they look beautiful, they can become mildly belligerent with age. They pick on smaller fish and consume invertebrates.

Here is a mediocre picture of a red headed goby. The focus is not perfect, and the colors are somewhat washed out.

The Ruby Barb is an old aquarium favorite. A small fish, they have a ruby red head that shades to the black caudal fin. These cyprinids have large eyes and scales.

Several other different names are used for them, including Pseudotropheus Tropheops Red Head, Pseudotropheus Big Eye, and Macropthalmus Red cheek.
