Redox potential-(ORP)-Measured in millivolts (mV). A measurement of the oxidation/reduction potential of the water molecule. Measured mainly via electronic probes.
Redox (Reduction-Oxidation) - A measure of how an organic reactions to takes place. This is an indication of overall water quality.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) - A process to filter municipal tap water before use in the aquarium.
Redox: This is a scientific term referring to the reduction-oxidation potential of the water. Its measurement gives an indication of how an aquarium will be able to sustain life. A high value is better than a low.
Redox: Reduction-oxidation potential. It is a measure of the ability of water to allow biological reactions to take place and is used as an indication of water quality.

Increasing the redox potential of the water is a risky issue. Fortunately, there is a chemical which will do exactly that, is cheap, available everywhere and - the most important thing - its only metabolite is water and oxygen.
