I find that Rotala Macrandra likes a long day to thrive, say ten hours or thereabouts. Water must be free of nitrates and phosphates. Do frequent water changes, I normally change a third of a tank each week.
Rotala macrandra was placed close to the center, mainly because they were new and that spot in the tank received the gratest amount of light, so I wanted to ensure they would survive.
