Cichlasoma sajica is a funny fish. The predominant colour is black with yellow and blue fins. This cichlid resemble the C. nigrofasciatum, but his behaviour is contrary. For the maintanance of this fish I advice to have a 100 l tank, or bigger.

Yes I am biased, as I gave Jackie the parents, but the sight of a number of 'Cichlasoma' sajica fry been so carefully tended by their doting mother and father was a sight to behold.
For CA's, some of the less common convict-cousins, such as Cryptoheros sajica, Crypto. spilurus, C. spilurus cutteri, C. sp. Honduran Red Point and C. septemfasciatus would make in interesting set-up if you ended up with just a single pair.
These fish should be cared for in the same way as their close cousins Cryptoheros nanoluteus and Cryptoheros sajica. These fish are somewhat territorial but not overly aggressive.
