The Skunk Loach is named because of its Skunk-like colors and pattern. These Loaches generally stay pretty busy and will usually leave other fish alone. They spend a lot of time digging so a soft sandy substrate is needed.

lohachata, Skunk Loaches - B. horae, Blue Loaches - B. modesta, and Striated Loaches - B. striata are all seen in the hobby.

Although this individual fish was part of the original "pack" that I had in the late 80s, it wasn't tolerant of tankmates of other species. It did put up with a skunk loach for about 18 months.
