Stingrays have grown in popularity just recently, and young specimens may cost upwards of 100 dollars. A lively bottom-dweller, it does best in a species tank with open areas at the bottom for swimming and resting.

A stingray tank only needs to be moderately tall, say 45-50cm/18-20" but width and length must never be compromised. I suggest an aquarium of 120cm/48" long by 60cm/24" wide as a minimum.

Fish, crustaceans and literally anything that it finds tasty and small enough to eat. I have personally witnessed one of the fish pictured above eat a large freshwater stingray head first! Furniture Large secured pieces of bogwood and rock.
