PD : A beautifully colored catfish. The back is slightly arched. It has large eyes and a large head. The Angel Catfish's mouth is located under the head and has threepairs of barbels.

In the pictures below you can see what takes place in my tanks on a regular (almost daily) basis when Synodontis angelicus (left) meets Synodontis ocellifer (right). Despite chasing each other all over the tank (actually S.

There is a resemblance to the African fish Synodontis angelicus, and the Pictus Catfish is sometimes commonly called "Angelicus," but the African fish is dark with white/yellowish spotting and a slightly different shape.

The lips may be modified into a sucker in some species. They range in size from 1" to 24". This groups contains many popular species among aquarists, such as Synodontis nigriventris, Synodontis angelicus and Synodontis multipunctatus.

3" specimen kept with angelfish, gouramis, black convict, synodontis eupterus, synodontis angelicus, corydoras catfish. The chalceus gets along fine with everything except the feeder guppies I put into the tank for movement.
