Synodontis Brichardi

Aquarium Synodontis AngelicusSynodontis Decorus

Synodontis brichardi
Origin and locale/variety: Congo basin of central Africa. It is probably found predominently in the faster-flowing streams, for which its slender shape is ideally suited.

Synodontis brichardi Poll, 1959 - add this species to your "My Cats" page.
Common Name(s)
Brichard's Syno ...

Synodontis brichardi
SYN : None
PD : The elongated body has a flat body profile. Three pairs of barbels are located on the mouth. Brichard's Synodontis has a unique, stream-lined body, uncharacteristic of other Synodontis species.

although I go along with this the pattern of dark brown and white varies greatly among individuals (as readers who know the more commonly seen Synodontis angelicus will be familiar) going from crop circle markings to bars as in Synodontis brichardi.
