The T-bar Cichlid is a Central American species of cichlids found in freshwater streams and lakes on the Pacific slope of Costa Rica. The fish is tan coloured with seven indistinct bars on the body.

The T-Bar cichlid is a prolific cave breeder. Pairs are not loyal, so keep an eye on them as aggressiveness will build with age. Excellent parents.
Variants:
Two known color morphs are the more common blue/purple variety and the 24 Karat Gold morph.

Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis (A100) is often called the T-bar cichlid in older aquarium literature. It is the only species in the Genus Apistogrammoides and is very closely related to the Apistogrammas.
