Temperature Control
Temperature
A good range is 76° to 80°F (25° to 27°C). A few species need to be kept several degrees warmer, and some species require temperatures a few degrees cooler.
A thermometer is vital.

Temperature Conversion.
This is a table which lets you read an article written by a European (or an American if you are a European) and understand the temperature values referred to.

Back in 1968 1 ran an experiment on temperature and young gupps. I split a dropping of fry... kept one half at about 72-75 degrees and the other half I kept at about 80-82 degrees, both in 10 gallon tanks with approximately 40 fish in each.

Water's ability to dissolve is also determined by its temperature. Aquarists are interested in dissolving chemicals in every state of matter, whether it is a solid, liquid, or gas.

TEMPERATURE
The temperature of tropical sea water varies little over the course of a day, or even a year. Furthermore, marine fish are generally more sensitive to abrupt changes than freshwater fish.

Verify temperature on a daily basis.
Always unplug your heater if you must place your hands in the aquarium.

Check the temperature of your water daily using an aquarium thermometer.

As pH and temperature decrease, more total ammonia can be tolerated. Interestingly, however, less un-ionized NH3 is needed at lower pH to be lethal.

Aquarium Temperature Guide Part 1
This is the first part of a series on keeping your tank at the right temperature. When you decide to start keeping an aquarium the temperature of the water will determine what you can keep.

Aquarium water temperature
An important water parameter for the aquatic life, influencing the quantity of oxygen but also lots of very important factors which contribute to developing life in aquariums.

Tropical fish have to have a standard temperature which is between approximately 22-29 degrees Celsius (72-84 degrees Fahrenheit).

Just like the sun on a hot summer day, the lighting in your aquarium is probably responsible for most of the heat raising the temperature in your aquarium.

Temperature
While each strain of white spot is slightly different in general at 86F (30C) they begin to lose the ability to reproduce. Unfortunately the ability for water to hold oxygen is also drastically reduced.

Temperature Control is probably the most limiting factor in desk top aquariums. A few of the larger models will accommodate a submersible aquarium heater, but most often, the light bulb is the only source of warmth.

Temperature-This is most commonly measured in degrees Fahrenheit (F), and in degrees Celsius (C). Temperature measures the relative heat of the aquarium water. This is measured with a thermometer.

Temperature
Water temperature affects the amount of dissolved oxygen water can hold. Cool water holds more oxygen than warm water. Obviously, though, we can't just lower our aquarium's water temperature to increase its oxygen content.

Temperature
The best temperature for individual freshwater aquarium fish varies among species,
but a temperature range between 74 and 78E (23 - 26EC) seems suitable to most.

Temperature: The ideal temperature for this fish is 21 - 28°C.
Breeding: This fish is amongst the easiest to breed, in fact, it can be difficult to stop them! The females are nearly always pregnant, and can store sperm for up to 6 months.

Temperature: 72-79 F (22-26 C)
Description
Not all Leporinus carry the distinctive yellow and black stripes seen in the species most fishowners are familiar with.

Temperature: 74-80 F
Availability: Somewhat available.
General Information:
The Kissing Gourami is peaceful, these fish lock mouths and look similar to what a kissing fish would look like.

Temperature and Oxygen Concentration

As the temperature of your aquarium increases, the oxygen content in it decreases.

Temperature: 72F(22C)
pH: 7
The Tiretrack Eel is the largest of the spiny eels available in the hobby. Although they look like eels, they in fact are not.

Temperature: 72 to 78 degrees F
PH: 6.8 to 7.3
Environment: The whiptail catfish will do fine with very small gravel but prefers a more sandy substrate.

Temperature: Optimal Temperature is around 22C, but can survive anywhere from 15 - 27C. Cooler temperature tropical tanks will also support this fish.
Lifespan: Approximately 10 years.
pH: 6 - 7.5 ...

Temperature= 23-27C (75-82F)
Temperment= This fish is hostile with it's own species, you may see them together in the fish tank at the fish store, but they will get hostile as they get older.

[edit] Temperature
It is said that the fungus stops reproducing above 32°C (89.6°F) and dies within 6 hours out of water.
The fungus also dies if the temperature rises above 35°C (95°F) for more than 6 hours.

``What temperature do I keep a planted tank?''
This varies from plant-to-plant, but you can keep most aquatic plants from 72-80F (22-27C). For warm-water discus tanks, check a plant book for species that thrive in these special conditions.

Marine Temperature Control :
This topic covers various ways of keeping the temperature in marine tanks lower than normal.

Breeding The male has the most body colors and the female's are silver in appearance. Male builds a bubble nest where they will place up to 600 fertilized eggs.

The temperature and dissolved oxygen conditions that many efficiency figures, given for aeration and oxygenation systems, are quoted under. The standard conditions are for "tap water" at 20oC and 0 mg/l oxygen.

Feed the fish
Scrape the tank glass of any diatom algae growth - it's way easier to take it off daily, instead of letting it grow.

Stable temperatures kept within acceptable limits. Anything under 72 ° F and over 86 ° F for too long is not tolerated by many of these fish (for ich, a few days at 86 ° F is acceptable according to one author)..
Lots of oxygen to survive.

Raised temperature to 78 (from 77).
Added a second maroon clown (about 2/3 the size of Krusty) and a fire shrimp.

Constant temperature and pH levels will help maintain this peaceful Plecostomus' health. Planted aquariums with high aeration and water movement provide a good environment.

The water temperature in a fish tank can vary much more than a fish's normal environment. This is where a heater comes in to use. There are several types and many sizes available.

The ideal temperature for most fish-only aquaria is between 76 degrees and 82 degrees Fahrenheit.

Finally, the temperature of a saltwater tank is basically the same as a freshwater tank. Anywhere between 75F to 80F (24C - 27C), with 77F (25C) being a good midpoint.

Kelvin: A temperature reading used to rate the color of light bulbs. 5500 degrees K is equal to sunlight.

Controlling the temperature of your aquarium is vital to the health of your fish and plants.

The ideal water temperature for these African and Asian breeds is slightly warm - mid-70s to low 80s F. And depending on the adult size of the gourami, small to large community tanks with good foliage will be appropriate homes for them.

Keeping the water temperature at the right level is critical in keeping axolotls alive and healthy. The low 60′s are ideal and they can usually tolerate water temperatures that reach the low 70′s, but anything higher can kill them.

niger prefers a temperature range of 72-79 degrees F. Being fairly active swimmers, they require plenty of oxygren in the water, so a powerhead or some sort of heavy water current is required.

In a room of normal temperature, one half watt per quart of water will be sufficient. Cooler rooms should use a heater that emits one watt for every quart of water.

Even though the lake has a, relatively speaking, uniform temperature, most fish species only inhabit the first 450 feet (137 m) from the water's surface.

Their body temperature is thus directly determined by the environmental temperature of the water surrounding them. Since they have no way to regulate body temperature they are more sensitive to heat fluctuations than mammals.

Oscars should be kept at a temperature range of 72-80 degrees F, with ideal temperature at 77 degrees F. They like their water slightly softer than most and prefer an ideal ph range of 6.8 - 7.6 with ideal being 7.2.

Do your best to keep the water you are adding to the tank close to the temperature of the water that is in the tank. This helps to minimize the stress to the fish and the biological filter due to the move.
