Threadfin Rainbowfish do well in aquaria as small as 10 US gallons (larger always being recommended). If keeping them in such an aquarium, they are best housed as a "species only" tank. Meaning that the tank is reserved for the Threadfins alone.
Description: The Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri) was described by Meinken in 1974 and is the only species currently recognized within its genus.

Threadfin Rainbowfish do well in aquariums of 20 US gallons (76 L), however 30 US gallons (110 L) is preferred. They are best housed in a "species only" tank; meaning that the tank is reserved for the Threadfins alone.
The Threadfin rainbowfish scatters its eggs on plants such as Java moss. Hatching can take up to 12 days depending on the temperature.
