Turnover: The rate of water flow through a filter. A high turnover rate is recommended for reef tanks.
U
Ultraplankton: Organisms that are less than 2 micrometers in size.

Turnover - Or Turnover rate. The rate at which the total volume of the tank water is processed through the Filter system. Three or four times per hour is usually the minimum for a freshwater tank.

Turnover Water flow rate through a filter. For marine aquariums a high turnover is recommended.

Turnover Rate: Approx 10X-12X.

Temperature Controls: 1 hp UMI chiller on Ranco controller. There is a duplicate chiller and controller for back up. 'Systems' switched every six months.

Turnover - The rate of how much water flows within an aquarium.

Water-turnover: The rate at which water flows througha certain filter. This is normally rated at LPH (Litres per Hour). In general, water turnover in an aquarium will be 3 to 4 times the tank capacity an hour.

This system runs lighting on timers, has W/D filter system, as well as E-Heim canister for mechanical filtering system combined tank water turnover was 3.75 times per hour, temp was a constant 78 deg (F).

This is about filtration, so what does this mean on filter capacity required, and that great mythical measure of turnover per hour?

Furthermore, the staff turnover rates in the various branches of the big chains mandate that you will get poorer services from less knowledgeable staff.

This basic equipment that the particular system comes with, is one internal sponge filter RENA Filstar FiV2, with a turnover of five hundred eighty liters per hour (580 l/h), ...

Generally with a high water turnover rate of <1 hour. The advantages of raceways are that they can be easily built in series, with the water flowing from one to the other and that they are easy to empty of fish by using a simple crowding screen.

It is also a good idea to buy your drugs at a store that has a high turnover. I buy mine at one of the larger chain stores simply for that reason, while buying for my normal fish needs from my favorite aquarium store.

Finally, it is important to make sure the turnover of aquarium water is sufficient to provide maximum sterilization in the aquarium.

to at least 82°F and ensure the tank is well aerated and heavily filtered (A tank turnover rate of 6 times an hour is not excessive). Ensure there are many spawning caves and crevices available for the fish to select.

Another variable to consider is the turnover time (amount of time required to have the entire volume of water in the aquarium pass through the sterilizer).

No matter which type of filter you are using, it should have a water turnover rate of two or three times each hour.

Fresh water aquariums generally require a minimum water turnover rate of approximately four times an hour. Marine aquariums usually do best with water turnover rates of 7 to 10 times per hour.

In the wild, currents, thermal and wind turnover, rain and runoff take care of these concerns; in captive aquatic forests, it's up to you and your filtration and mechanical circulation.

The enormous depth and tropical location of the lake prevent 'turnover' of watermasses, which means that much of the lower depths of the lake are so-called 'fossil water' and are anoxic (lacking oxygen).

Strong filtration should be used to simulate the natural environment's heavy turnover rate. Driftwood, rocks, and dense plants should be provided for hiding and territory.

These are easy to maintain and have more media than internal versions along with a slower turnover rate which is ideal for the planted or discus aquarium.

As far as the filters, aim for a ten tank volume per hour turnover rate based on the flow ratings of the filters. Don't worry, discus can take up to a moderate current in their tanks with no problems.

This means of propagation allows a large turnover of plants in a very short time with very little space and ensures healthy disease free plants that generally give a better looking plant once it has reached salable size.

I like canister filters because there is no visible equipment in the tank (I hate that!), multiple filtration media types can be used inside, have a high turnover rate (gallons per hour) and are ‘all-in-on', combining mechanical, chemical, ...

The water pumps used in such a system are very powerful and provide excellent turnover of tank volume. And since there are no filters hanging off the back of the tank, you can push the aquarium flat against a wall.

Accomplished in the hobby more than once. A difficult fish to spawn, as are most ex-"ancistomus" species. Apparently, there was little provocation for the pair to breed other than pristine water quality, heavy feedings, and high turnover.

is the best setup for someone who wants to minimize their plumbing and planning. The holes and overflow should already be planned for a decent flow rate. Be sure to note down what flow the overflow is rated for, this will affect your sump turnover ...
