Aquarium setup: Hemmigrammus Caudovittatus (Buenos Aires Tetra) are an hardy fish and can tolerate a large range of conditions and will be fine as long as extremes are avoided.
vittatus and the other Hydrocynids can easily grow to be well over 3 feet long. An aquarium would have to be several hundred (thousand?) gallons to house the fish appropriately. In the wild they form roving schools of similarly sized fish.
T. vittatus is differentiated by having a single stripe along the lateral line, along with one stripe in the dorsal. They dine on microorganisms and the eggs of other fish in the wild.
