WPG - Watts Per Gallon. The wattage put out by the aquarium lights per gallon of water in the tank. For example, a 10 with two 15 watt normal output Fluorescent lights will give you 3 watts per gallon.
The WPG Rule is very general and some thought needs to be put into lighting choices before setting up your tank, but always keep in mind that plants need the "Watt Intensity of the Bulb" to be successful, as well as WPG.
Does best under medium - high lighting, but even lighting as low as 1.5 WPG can be enough. Propagation: Propagation through cuttings, cut in half and plant both pieces.

Strong lighting (2-3 WPG is ideal), a nutrient rich substrate, and Co2 fertilization will speed this process along. Like most swords, Pygmy Chain Swordplants require some iron in the water to keep up good growth.
For this reason, it can take up a lot of space in an aquarium. It also can grow up to 30 inches tall, so it will quickly reach the surface of most tanks. Light is rarely an issue, as it can grow with less than 1.5 WPG, albiet slowly.
