Halfbeak, Malayan Halfbeak, Wrestling Halfbeak [ Pictures ] Dermogenys pusillus SYN : Hemirhamphuspusillus PD : An elongated fish with moderate lateral compression. The dorsal fin is set far back on the body, near the caudal fin.
The fish that seemed ubiquitous was the Wrestling Halfbeak (Dermogenys pusilis). They skimmed right under the surface of the water waiting for something edible to fall in.
The first livebearer I will give directions on keeping is the Wrestling Halfbeak. This is not exactly the kind of fish you will see at your average fish shop, so you may have to check out online stores if you want to get this fish.
